Junior Electrical Estimator (Chesapeake, Virginia) Overview:

The Junior Electrical Estimator (Chesapeake, Virginia) will work closely with senior estimators and project managers to develop accurate and competitive estimates for high-profile, large-scale electrical projects. This position will provide training and hands-on experience with estimating tools, processes, and industry best practices.

Junior Electrical Estimator Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing accurate electrical project estimates by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting project specifications, blueprints, and other documents.
• Support senior estimators in identifying labor, material, and equipment costs.
• Use estimating software and spreadsheets to input data and generate cost estimates.
• Collaborate with vendors to obtain pricing on materials and equipment.
• Learn to assess project risks and incorporate contingency plans into estimates.
• Participate in site visits to evaluate project scope and collect field data as required.
• Stay updated with electrical codes, industry standards, and trends in construction estimating.
• Meet with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to gain insights into the estimating process.

Junior Electrical Estimator Qualifications

• Internship or prior experience in the construction or electrical industry.
• Working knowledge of electrical systems, construction practices, and relevant codes.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD or similar drafting software is a plus.
