Assistant Electrical Estimator (Atlanta, Georgia) Overview:
The Assistant Electrical Estimator (Atlanta, Georgia) will work closely with senior estimators and project managers to develop accurate and competitive estimates for high-profile, large-scale electrical projects. This position will provide training and hands-on experience with estimating tools, processes, and industry best practices.
Assistant Electrical Estimator Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing accurate electrical project estimates by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting project specifications, blueprints, and other documents.
- Support senior estimators in identifying labor, material, and equipment costs.
- Use estimating software and spreadsheets to input data and generate cost estimates.
- Collaborate with vendors to obtain pricing on materials and equipment.
- Learn to assess project risks and incorporate contingency plans into estimates.
- Participate in site visits to evaluate project scope and collect field data as required.
- Stay updated with electrical codes, industry standards, and trends in construction estimating.
- Meet with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to gain insights into the estimating process.
Assistant Electrical Estimator Qualifications
- Internship or prior experience in the construction or electrical industry.
- Working knowledge of electrical systems, construction practices, and relevant codes.
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD or similar drafting software is a plus.
