Electrical Estimator (Suffolk, Virginia) Overview:
The Electrical Estimator (Suffolk, Virginia) will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for commercial and industrial electrical construction projects. This role requires strong analytical skills, in-depth knowledge of electrical systems, and the ability to interpret blueprints and specifications. The ideal candidate will work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure project success and cost-effectiveness.
Electrical Estimator Responsibilities
- Review project plans, specifications, and blueprints to determine electrical requirements.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment.
- Develop competitive bid proposals and research market pricing.
- Collaborate with project teams and vendors for necessary data.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and risk factors.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and client consultations.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and safety codes.
- Maintain and update historical cost data.
Electrical Estimator Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator in commercial and industrial construction.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and industry standards.
- Knowledge and understanding of NECA labor standards and agreements.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Accubid, McCormick, Bluebeam, or similar tools).
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously and meet deadlines.
