Electrical Estimator (Atlanta, Georgia) Overview:
The Electrical Estimator (Atlanta, Georgia) will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for electrical work, ensuring all aspects of the project are considered to provide clients with the most competitive and reliable bids. The role requires a solid understanding of electrical systems, blueprints, and industry standards to help the company secure profitable contracts and meet project specifications.
Electrical Estimator Responsibilities
- Review project plans, drawings, and specifications to understand the scope of work and develop accurate cost estimates.
- Evaluate and estimate labor, material, and equipment costs, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to identify and address potential issues in electrical design and implementation.
- Assess and determine the quantity of materials required for electrical systems, ensuring that all products meet regulatory standards and are suitable for the project.
- Source and solicit quotes from suppliers and subcontractors, analyzing their proposals for cost, quality, and timelines.
- Prepare detailed proposals, budgets, and cost reports for clients and management.
- Attend project meetings with clients, engineers, and vendors to discuss project scope, timeline, and budget.
- Identify potential risks and suggest cost-saving strategies or alternatives for the client.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, codes, and regulations to ensure estimates are accurate and compliant.
- Provide ongoing support and advice to project managers during the execution phase, ensuring the project remains within budget and schedule.
- Assist in resolving discrepancies and changes during project execution, preparing cost adjustments when necessary.
Electrical Estimator Qualifications
- Estimating experience with large-scale commercial or industrial electrical projects.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, codes (e.g., NEC), and design principles.
- Proficiency in estimation software and tools (e.g., Accubid, ConEst, or similar).
- Experience working with blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical specifications.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in all aspects of the estimation process.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of cost factors and the ability to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
