Senior Electrical Estimator (Charlotte, North Carolina) Position Overview:

The Senior Electrical Estimator (Charlotte, North Carolina) will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive electrical estimates for a wide range of commercial and industrial projects including office buildings, retail spaces, educational facilities, healthcare buildings, manufacturing and mixed-use developments.

Senior Electrical Estimator Responsibilities

  • Manage and prepare detailed electrical estimates from conceptual design through final construction documents.
  • Participate in bid strategy meetings and analyze project risks, labor costs, material take-offs, and subcontractor pricing.
  • Perform quantity take-offs using digital software (e.g., Accubid, Bluebeam, PlanSwift) and develop labor and material cost projections.
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor/vendor quotes and ensure coverage for all scope items.
  • Recommend cost-saving alternatives and value engineering options during preconstruction.
  • Analyze plans, specifications, and project requirements to ensure completeness and alignment with the client’s expectations.
  • Work closely with the preconstruction team, project managers, engineers, and clients to comprehensively understand project scope and budget.
  • Maintain and update historical data for benchmarking and future estimating reference.


Senior Electrical Estimator Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in electrical estimating, specifically for commercial and industrial construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC, local building codes, and commercial electrical systems.
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Accubid, ConEst, Trimble) and digital take-off tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-lines, riser diagrams, and specifications.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience with design-build and design-assist projects is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred (not required with extensive experience).
